Cargill standard and modified lecithins are surface-active and emulsifying. Lecithin enhances the manufacture of oil-based emulsions, suspensions and dispersions and stabilizes these systems. Cargill’s industrial lecithins are also appropriate ingredients for dispersion in paint and ink formulations, leather & textile treatment, lubricant products, as well as wetting and de-foaming formulations. In drilling applications, lecithin can be used for lubricating drill bits for smooth operations, reducing friction and damage, and achieving viscosity requirements in fresh, saltwater and other drilling muds.

Soy lecithin is used in CASE applications to improve coat adhesion, pigment distribution, and dispersion. Industrial lecithin also inhibits rust formation and can improve color stability.
